This oak log was bought and cut on the Paul E. Smith property in Manchester Twp., Morgan County in 1926. The log was 39 feet long and 20 X 32 inches square. The log was used to repair the Battleship "Old Ironsides". After the cutting, the remaining stump measured 7 feet 4 inches across.
