In Loving Memory

Elizabeth was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother,
great grandmother and aunt. The warmth, caring and comfort she gave to
us all are expressed in the following poem I wrote for her on her 74th birthday.

Mother's Arms

Whenever I am hurting,
Down deep inside,
I feel Mother's arms around me,
And need no place to hide.

I know her love is there,
Waiting just for me.
With Mother's arms around me
I'm as happy as I can be.

It makes no difference to her
Whether I'm big or small,
With her arms around me,
I will never fall.

When I think of love,
Peace and serenity,
I think of Mother's arms,
Tightly holding me.

Elizabeth's Philosophy on Life

Many times I wondered how this lovely woman that had
endured so much in life could have such a positive and up-lifting
attitude for herself and was able to project it too others. While reading
some of the things she had written about herself and family,
it came to light and I would like to pass it on to all that read
these pages.

~

When she was asked,

"How did you feel about becoming a senior citizen"?

Her answer was most profound---- she would say,

"At what age are you a ‘senior citizen?’
To me life has been day by day.
You don’t age a year or more at one time,
So ... I have never placed myself in anyone age group.
Each day continues to be a new start.
What challenges that day will bring,
remain uncertain on waking."
