Wreck of The Shenandoah

Written in 1925 at the age of 10 years.

The Wreck of the Shenandoah

            1. At four o'clock one morning on a warm September morn a great and mighty airship from Lakehurst flew away. The millage Shenandoah the prid of all its way the crew was of the bravest captain Lansdown in command.

            2. At four o'clock next morning the earth was far below when a storm in all its fury wore a faith for long for hours. The brave they struggled they worked with all their might but the storm could not be conquered and the ship gave up the flight.

            3. Her side were torn asunder here cabins were torn down the captain and his brave men went crashing to the ground and 14 lives were taken but they have not died in vain but their name will live forever within the home of fame.

            4. In the little town of Greenville a mothers watchful eyes was waiting for the airship to see her son go by but at last her boy lay sleeping his last great fly was are he is to see his maker and his ship will fly no more.

            5. A loving wife and children a mothers broken heart there morning for their loved one since the storm tore him apart but their faith will not be taken they will see him by and by they know he waits in heavan where the brave go when they die.
